TimeQuake-VFX & Fracturing

Some of the many VFX that I worked on for TimeQuake, a time-based shooter multiplayer game currently in development, using Unreal Engine 4. Mainly in charge of creating various explosions for use in game. All effects were created using UE Niagara System, which was a fun experience to learn, as I hadn't any prior experience with it before beginning the job. Another important skill I learnt while creating the VFX was learning how to optimize them for real-time rendering in the game engine and how it can affect the frame rate negatively if not properly optimized. I was also responsible for the fracturing of assets, most commonly buildings, that would be used during cinematics and scripted events in the game with the help of code support with our in house coder. The fracturing were created and set up as Chaos caches Destruction, so that they could be placed in the levels and even set up so that they would freeze on a specific frame as well as saving them as converting them to static meshes in mid destruction to place in the level, keeping in line with the theme and aesthetic of the game
